Should I Drop these Guys?
I have Justin Masterson and Mat Latos on my team. Neither one has been very good so far this season; so I have been considering dropping them. The free agent pool is quite deep right now: Jake Peavy, Joe Saunders, Johnny Cueto, Jason Hammel, Jake Westbrook, and Wandy Rodriguez are just a handful of pitchers available. Are Masterson’s and Latos’ poor starts enough reason for me to drop either one and pick up one of these early season success stories???
Drop Masterson for Peavy right now. That is a very wise decision, Masterson’s velocity is down and has been much more hittable this year.
As for Latos, I’d stick with him. He has talent, but he’s just struggling to start it off so be patient.
