Ben Tate trade
I have two offers in place for Ben Tate which one should I take?
Give: Tate
Get: Santana Moss
you should know my WRs are (start 3) VJax, Bowe, Boldin, Julio Jones, Jordy Nelson & Steve Smith (phi)
Give: Tate/Kendricks
Get: Vernon Davis
Also my RBs are AP, DWill, Grant, Mathews, Pierre Thomas, Jerome Harrison and Tate

I would definetly do the trade for veron davis because i already really like your 3 starting WRs way more than Santana Moss and Veron Davis is a huge upgrade over a rookie TE that hasnt proven anything yet.

LikeDislikeI might be able to do the same tate/kendricks move but get witten now. would you do that over davis?

LikeDislikeIt’s a tough call between Davis and Whitten. Davis is simply an athletic freak who can be some big-time plays. But he has to deal with Alex Smith as QB and Harbaugh as the new coach. It’s tough how much the new coach will affect Davis’ stats-either positively or negatively. Whitten, on the other hand, has a healthy Tony Romo throwing him the ball. The other big thing Whitten has going for him is the number of catches he typically makes in a season. To use last season as a comparison, Davis caught 56 passes. Whitten caught 94. As a side note, he also finished the season with nearly 100 yards receiving more than Davis, and that was Jon Kitna under center. So if your league rewards points for receptions, Whitten seems to have the edge.
The last thing to think about is in regard to the weapons each team has. Vernon Davis is the main passing threat S.F. has. Yes they have Crabtree and Edwards. But Crabtree is coming off major surgery and has yet to establish himself or live up to his hype in the NFL. Edwards, although a tall and vertical threat, is in his first season in S.F. It might take a bit to earn Smith’s trust and his first option. But that being said, defenses may know that and put more coverage on Davis. Regardless, he should see a lot of looks.
Whitten is on a team that also has Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, and Felix Jones. That is a lot of targets for a lot of players. Romo is very capable of spreading the ball around; but with a completely healthy and slightly more experienced Dez Bryant to throw to, Whitten may see the number of targets he gets decline-but I wouldn’t say dramatically decline, just decline some.
Hope that’s enough to help you make your decision.

LikeDislikehaha well to make my decision easier the guy who “accepted” the Witten trade at 2am was drunk so he declined it the next morning so I went with the Davis trade.

LikeDislikeHaha! Well that’s still a pretty good trade in my opinion. It was essentially a win-win for you.
